About Carolyn Copeland Consulting:
I’m a passionate journalist and broadcasting professional with more than a decade of diverse experience in print and broadcast media. Some of my written work can be found in the San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Post, The Forge, Prism, Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Palo Alto Weekly and San Francisco Examiner. I like to call myself a “news junkie” because I am well-versed in local, state, national and international news.
I also have extensive mass media experience in major market broadcasting. Over the past few years, I have worked as a news writer and producer for KGO Radio, a news writer for ABC7 News and a traffic producer for iHeartMedia. I’ve booked high-profile guests for various types of podcasts and done publicity work for authors, actors, and newsmakers.
I’m currently a copy editor and staff reporter for Prism, a nonprofit affiliate of the Daily Kos. As a writer, I understand the importance of constructive criticism and detailed feedback. I launched Carolyn Copeland Consulting as a way to assist students and professionals who need a second opinion on their work, want someone to book guests for their podcast, need some publicity, require major rewrites on their work or have trouble marketing themselves in such a competitive job market.
Most importantly, I am a proud San Francisco Bay Area native who loves writing and helping other people strengthen their work. I sold my first piece to the San Francisco Chronicle when I was 18 years old. As soon as I saw my name in print, I was hooked! I’m typically juggling multiple projects, but when I’m not working, you can usually find me in the kitchen. I love whipping up new recipes and cooking for people. If I’m not in the kitchen, I’m probably with my husband at a stand-up comedy show in the city. I absolutely love to laugh. Need some editing work done? Have some recipes you want to share with me? Or, do you just want to say hi? Shoot me an e-mail. I’d love to hear from you!
